Molecular Formula
The (gross) chemical formula of the substance gives the number and type of atoms in the periodic table of the chemical elements. Together, these atoms form the chemical substance. Standard format is C#H#O#.
For a large number of chemical substances the molecular structure is also presented. If the molecular structure is available for a substance, a button with three dots will appear next to the molecular formula (to the right). Clicking this button will show the molecular structure.
